Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery
Beverly Hills, CA

Self-esteem, being comfortable in your own skin, bringing to light your natural beauty, rejuvenating your body, correcting a flaw from accident or injury, these are things that can be accomplished with the help of board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Perry Liu. Dr. Liu has extensive training and experience in many of the fields of plastic surgery, but what really sets him apart is his sense of aesthetics. A natural and beautiful result isn’t only achieved by surgical skill; it is achieved by the convergence of art and surgical skill.

Practice Philosophy

During consultations, Dr. Liu strives to understand each patient’s priorities and goals so that he may fulfill their expectations, have the results complement each patient’s features and personality, and achieve the most natural result possible.  Together with his patients, he will develop a treatment plan that is individualized and specific for his patient’s needs and desires. This is only a part of what makes him a great eyelid surgeon Los Angeles has to offer.

He believes that there can be no greater compliment than to have patients look great without others being able to tell they have had surgery. Subtle changes can have dramatic yet natural results. Plastic surgery can distort, maim, and destroy a person’s self esteem. Or it can enhance, rejuvenate, and restore one’s youthful looks. Dr. Liu is a staunch advocate of the later and doing what is best for his patient’s health and appearance. He is committed working with his patients to achieve this goal.

Dr. Liu also believes that great surgical outcomes are not only dependent upon good technical skills and a sound fund of knowledge, but also depend on how you handle tissue during surgery. When handled gently and treated with respect, tissues heal better and scar less.  Tissues that are traumatized less during surgery also recover more quickly. Patients not only feel better faster and have less down time, but ultimately scar better. The precision of the closure also helps make scars less visible. As a result, different surgeons achieve different outcomes when performing the same exact procedure. No one understands this better than a micro-surgically trained plastic surgeon.

Services Offered

BOTOX®

BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet to form over time. BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into the muscles that cause frown lines and crow’s feet lines, temporarily reducing the activity of those muscles. The result is a reduction in the appearance of those lines.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time. Effects usually lasts from 4 to 6 months.

It typically takes 4-5 days for BOTOX® Cosmetic to take effect. If it is your first time receiving this treatment, it will last approximately 4-5 months before you need another treatment.

Dr. Perry Liu routinely performs this injection to clients who chose not to have surgery and want a youthful look.

Fillers & Injections

Liquid Facelift

A Liquid Facelift is a technique for injecting advanced dermal fillers, such as JUVEDERM®, Radiesse® and Restylane® to lift and contour facial features. A non-surgical Liquid Face Lift can be undertaken to accomplish any of the following:

Gentle lift of individual (or overall) facial features
Reduced wrinkles, creases, line or folds
Restoration of natural, curved facial contours
A more rested, energetic look
A friendlier smile

In some patients the goal of a non surgical Liquid Face Lift procedure is to lift the entire face.   In others, the goal is to lift or contour specific facial features. For example, under eye bags and dark circles can be masked by using Liquid Facelift techniques; eyes can be opened up and lids lifted; jowls can be lifted and diminished; natural shape can be restored to flattened cheeks or temple areas; corners of the mouth can be lifted; and bumps on the nose can be hidden. Many of these conditions and contouring procedures are discussed on this web site, as well as treatment procedures for a variety of wrinkles, folds and line

Results from Liquid Face Lift procedures can range from subtle to astonishing. It is common for patients who have had Liquid Face Lift procedures to say that they receive compliments on their appearance without others knowing that they have done anything. In some instances, the results can be so uplifting that they change an individual’s life. As with any cosmetic medical procedure, results vary from patient to patient.

As we age, our faces start looking old because we develop wrinkles, our skin and connective tissue weaken and sag, and we loose the chubby youthful volume we has in our younger years. As children and young adults, we always sought to be thin and fit. That is the goal for exercising and staying fit. However, as we mature, our goal should be to look a little chubbier. If you look around at all the personalities on TV and those around you, you will notice that older individuals looker younger when their faces are chubbier. When we become more mature, a major factor in our faces looking wrinkly and saggy is that we are loosing our facial volume. Our facial fat pads have shrunken away and our faces look deflated and crinkly.

Fillers

Botox and other muscle relaxants may relax your muscles of facial expression, and keep them from producing temporary or permanent wrinkles in your face, but they will not restore your lost volume. That is where fillers come into play. They will restore the lost volume in your midface, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and your temples. Restoring last facial volume keeps you from looking like skin and bones while restoring a youthful fullness to your face.

Currently there are traditional fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma, and Radiesse. These are based upon putting hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxylapetite into your face to replace the volume that would normally be fat cells in a younger person. These temporary fillers, meaning they last anywere from 7 months to 2 or 3 years. On the permanent side, Artefill provides long lasting volume restoration.

A new and exciting concept in volume restoration is offered through Sculptra Aesthetic. Its purpose is to grow your own collagen to restore your lost youthful facial volume. Unlike traditional fillers, you do not get the immediate gratification of instant volume restoration. It takes 6-8 weeks to grow out your own collagen to replace your facial volume. Depending on how much volume you need restored, you may need 2-3 sessions. However, the wait is well worth it and your patience will pay off. The restored volume will last longer than most traditional fillers. It will also give you a more natural appearance, especially if you need a lot of volume restored. When you palpate your face, you won’t feel the fillers as you would with a traditional filler. Also, when you animate your face, your facial expression won’t be stiff from having space occupying fillers in your face that hinder your facial expression.

Juvederm

JUVÉDERM® XC is the smooth gel filler made from cross-linked hyauronic acid that can be used to instantly smooth away the wrinkles around your mouth and nose, as well as other areas of your face. JUVÉDERM® XC is manufactured using HYLACROSS™ technology, creating a smooth-consistency gel. It is infused with lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment.

Restylane

Restylane is a crystal clear gel that is injected into the skin (or for some treatments just under) in small amounts to restore volume and structure. It is based on non-anaimal hyaluronic acid, similar to the body’s own hyaluronic acid. A treatment with Restylane will generally last 6-12 months, and with only one re-treatment the effect has in a recent clinical study been shown to last up to 18 months

Radiesse

RADIESSE® is a volumizing Filler immediately provides the volume and lift needed to diminish the signs of aging because of the calcium-based microspheres and gel that comprise the product. What makes it unique is that it acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulating your own natural collagen to grow. This process continues for several months, which extends the initial effect of RADIESSE Volumizing Filler. The natural results are clinically proven to last 1 to 1.5 years.

Artefill

Artefill is a microsphere-enhanced Collagen that provides a support matrix for long lasting wrinkle correction. Treatments improve over the course of several months and stand the test of time. Artefill contains unique microspheres that are not absorbed by your body and work with your skin to produce collagen which provides the support your skin needs for natural, long lasting results. Results are permanent.

Voluma

Like its juvederm sister product, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC is a hyaluronic based filler that is highly crosslinked so that it lasts longer and provides more volume, especially to your midface and cheek area. It can instantly adds volume to the cheek area, with natural-looking results up to 2 years. It is the first and only FDA-approved filler to correct age-related volume loss in the midface. With optimal treatment, natural-looking results last up to 2 years.

Dysport

Dysport is an injectable treatment for wrinkles that is made from the same neurotoxin as Botox (botulinum toxin type A). Dysport is injected directly into the muscles that cause facial wrinkles, temporarily immobilizing them and thereby smoothing out your skin.

Xeomin

XEOMIN® is a prescription medication used in facial aesthetics to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar frown lines between the eyes (glabellar lines) in adults.

XEOMIN® contains botulinum toxin type A, a protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and is also sometimes referred to as incobotulinumtoxinA. XEOMIN® – is used in facial aesthetic treatment to treat dynamic lines like glabellar frown lines. It acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, XEOMIN® can temporarily reduce the frown lines on your forehead between your eyes.
