Hyperhidrosis Botox Treatment in Las Vegas, Nevada (NV)

Severe sweating can be a troublesome and embarrassing condition. Botox injections can treat excessive underarm sweating, known as severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis. Treatment is a simple in-office procedure which involves multiple injections in your underarm skin to target your sweat glands. The Botox prevents nerve signals from triggering the release of chemicals which cause your sweat glands to release perspiration.

How Botox treatment for hyperhidrosis is performed

Botox injections are administered in your dermatologist’s office, and usually take about 15 to 20 minutes. Your doctor will numb your underarms with a topical anesthetic and inject the Botox into the skin. Most treatments will take about 15 to 20 injections for each underarm.

Recovery and results

You can resume your regular activities right after treatment, but you might have some temporary discomfort or bleeding from the injections. It can take about five to seven days for the Botox to take full effect. Most people report an 80 to 90 percent reduction in underarm sweat, which lasts for about 6 to 8 months. You can get additional Botox injections after this time to maintain optimum results.
