BOTOX in Chicago, Illinois (IL)

BOTOX injections are used to reduce the appearance of crow’s feet around the eyes, frown lines between the eyebrows, and wrinkles on the forehead. BOTOX works by temporarily reducing the muscle activity under your skin that is responsible for creating these wrinkles. BOTOX can also treat excessive sweating and eyelid twitching.

How BOTOX treatment is performed

BOTOX is a quick, non-surgical procedure that is performed in the office and has no downtime.

Your doctor will use a fine needle to inject the BOTOX under your skin and just into the underlying muscles. You will feel a pinch from the needle, but the treatment isn’t painful. Your doctor may use ice or apply a topical numbing agent to your skin for your comfort. The amount of injections can vary.

BOTOX for excessive sweating targets and reduces the activity in your sweat glands. Injections are typically done in the underarms. It’s more common to have a topical numbing agent for this sensitive area, and you’ll need about a dozen or so injections for each side.

Recovery and results

There’s no downtime after your injections, but your doctor may give you personalized post-treatment instructions. You’ll see results in about one to two days, and results usually last around four months. BOTOX is not permanent; you’ll need continued injections to maintain your results.
